Despite presenting liminal, desolate scenes, I always paint what I find to be beautiful, and would rather prompt engagement with the unknown than a fear of it. This body of work is guided by the yet-to-be-seen: places obscured by darkness and alienated by light. The camera is an eye that abstracts in a similar way to my impaired sight, and what may appear altered or edited is also fully representative of my embodied experience.

If an apocalypse happens I will not notice.

I will assume the spectacle in my peripheral vision is probably just

headlights, a neon billboard advertisement, a camera flash.

But I don't want some angel to be mad at me when they come down and I ignore them, mistake them for lightning or halogen,

so now I keep both eyes open when I cross the street,

and I do not blink when the lights come towards me.

I don't want to miss it.
